Venture into the Andrew Warren Historic District to become part of a new, wildly popular, dining tradition. Since opening in August of 2006, the buzz has been non-stop about this upscale casual dining restaurant created by proprietor Patricia (Patty) Kay. The beautifully restored Italianate-style home built in 1881 by Ely Wright was the right place for Patty to fulfill her longtime dream of taking a historic home and giving it a restaurant makeover.

Everything from the menu choices to the silverware were carefully considered by Patty to create a memorable dining experience. “I like to say we’ve started a chain reaction,” says Patty proudly. “Patrons are turning away from the national names to enjoy true classic dining in an elegant turn-of-the-century home.” The Wright Place on 6th has three dining rooms and a cozy, custom-designed bar to sit down to for a friendly conversation and a drink before your meal. The restaurant décor has an understated elegance suitable for special occasions, yet welcoming and relaxed enough for just about any reason to dine out.

The contemporary American cuisine has hints of French influences and is skillfully prepared by Chef Travis Teska, a graduate of the Johnson and Wales University of Denver. Chef Teska has a critical eye for presentation and serves a varied menu of hand-picked dishes and daily fresh features based on the season. Popular dishes include the Salmon in Sweet Wine Sauce, Pork Tenderloin with Strawberry Chutney, and Scallops with Wasabi Beurre Blanc. After-meal treats are equally tempting, like the Peanut Butter Ice Cream Pie or the excellent Vanilla Bean Crème Brûleé.

With only 50 seats available, reservations are encouraged anytime and highly recommended for Fridays and Saturdays, which feature relaxing live music. Great food, great place, great times. It’s the Wright place to be. Where you can dress casually and dine royally.
